Adding Your Websites, etc

In case you didn't get the email about this topic, I want to let you know that as far as I can figure, I need to be the one to upload your websites and other useful links to the blog, since I was the one who created the blog. I'm happy to do this! Just email me any link you want posted on the blog, and up they'll go. My email is: info (at) florasbowley.com

See all you amazing women soon!

Bloggity Blog

Hello Ladies!
I hope the rainy weather has got you snuggling in and getting inspired. I have spent the last couple of months being fairly unmotivated and uninspired and scared that it was going to last forever. But, as always, I seem to have pulled out of it and now I am ready to go!!!!! I attended the Flock Pod meeting and after the meeting I had to run up and down the stairs a few times just to get some energy out! We tossed around some brilliant ideas and I am super excited to have awesome women to witness me and help me hold myself accountable, as well as be there for others in the same way. Just having you to bounce ideas off of feels really good. I have wanted to get my solo performance business really going for 3 years now and for some reason I have put little to no effort into it, just waiting for clients to come to me through word of mouth. As a result, I have done only 4 or 5 solo gigs in the last 3 years, and they pay REALLY well so what's my damn problem???!! my new years resolution 2006 was to make myself business cards and I think I ended up making them early 2007.... and i still have almost the whole box left.
******So!******* Here are my next steps: I need to come up with a name for my business. Any ideas? thoughts? suggestions? In March Fourth and Vagabond Opera I go by Amy Hotfield, so I think I could somehow incorporate my name into it... or not! Another thing I would like to do is create a website for myself. I am going to look in to doing it myself, but if that's too hard, does anyone know of a good lady website designer? preferably not too expensive.....
Anyway, here are my notes from our meeting last Tuesday:

name for business! ask for help on blog
website ask for help on blog
sam levine's web designer
new business cards
craigslist
postcard - consistent design
name of business on voice mail
business on email signature
email update/newsletter with picture attached
DVD of performance
promo package
women's business directory
multiple networking groups
linkd in

flock ad in the newspaper
write down goals, repeat them

linking websites

talk about Flock on website.

BIG love!!!
Amy

Thanks for doing this. I love any online communication so I'm on-board and I decided to write just so you'd know someone is here and appreciating your labor of love. I look forward to meeting you on the 10th. Kaya

Welcome Flockers!!

Hi ladies,

Glad you found your way to the new Flock! blog.  I hope it's not overwhelming for anyone.  It's actually quite simple to use...just takes a little getting used to.  Perhaps, in the future, we will be somewhat specific about what kinds of things we post here, but for now, I'd say share whatever feels appropriate to you.  And, "commenting" will be a great way for us to give each other feedback, etc.

Also, if you'd like to add  a link to your website or another useful link:
1. Sign In
2. Click on Layout
3. Click on "edit" in the "Our Websites and Other Useful Links" box
4. Add your link
5.  Save

And, of course, ANY feedback on this blog is welcome.  It's OURS...I just got the ball rollin'.
xoxoxoxo, Flora

Some contacts for Dec Events

Hi all,

I want to pass on Elaine Brown's info who is hosting the Dec 8th spa night at East Burn from 6:30-9:30pm.

I know a few of you were interested, but I'm not 100% sure of what she is looking for or if there is space left.
But here is her contact: elaine@elainebrown.com

ALSO, for everyone to consider is the PCC Cascade Campus (705 N Killingsworth) winter fair in the first week of Dec, Mon-Fri.
It's $10 a day for a table to sell your wares. Very loose hours and you don't have to come every day, just whenever you can make it.
The table fee goes to a charity they are running and you get exposure to the student crowd.
This would be ideal if you have products/services under $20...
I'll be participating every day that I can as it's ideal for my product line and tattoos...
The contact for that is Amber Parke, email: amber.parke15@pcc.edu, phone: 503-978-5114

I got my kits into 3 stores so far and am waiting to hear back from 4 others, with 2 that I still need to approach. Not bad so far!
